Located at the corner of Olive Ave. and Gunter St., this 1110 square foot house sits in Fayetteville's most nostalgic Historic neighborhood. There is more space to this house than a typical ranch-style house because it has a large front porch, 9' ceilings throughout, and a living room that merges with the dining room. The character and charm of the house will be kept and restored so that the feel and history of the neighborhood will continue.

Post-construction Floor PlanThe house will be completely restored back to a better-than-new state, keeping the exact same footprint. It will have the porch torn off and rebuilt, significant foundation and structural repairs, a new brick fireplace on the Gunter side with stained glass windows, and the original 5-over-1 windows will be restored. It will also have a new wooden fence along the back and side, one car off street parking (off Gunter), all new sidewalks on both Gunter and Olive, and a beautifully landscaped yard.

Walking into the house through the front door leads to the living room which will contain the new brick fireplace and new stained glass windows on either side of it. Existing built-in bookshelves that do not go to the ceiling act as dividers between the living and dining rooms. These help distinguish the individual spaces while making them flow together. The threshold between the dining room and kitchen will be widened to create the same effect and continue the flow of the public spaces. The large kitchen will contain all new stainless steel appliances and wood cabinets. Off the back of the kitchen will be the laundry services, a new coat closet, and a private entry.

A hall has been added off the dining room that will access the front bedroom, a full bath, and the master bedroom. Pre-construction Floor PlanThe front bedroom looks out to the front porch, has a large double-door closet, and windows on 2 walls to allow plenty of natural light and ventilation. The full bath will have a new glass block window for added privacy, and there will be a new attic entry in the hall. The master bedroom will also have a large double-door closet and access the master bath. The master bath will look over the back yard and will have a double vanity and a storage closet.

The landscaping will be designed by a professional landscape designer to compliment the house and the surrounding environment. The quality of the renovation and character of the house will ensure that the charm and nostalgia of the neighborhood is preserved for years to come.
