Built in 1925, Rebeccahaus, in the historic Washington-Willow of downtown Fayetteville, is a classic bungalow if there ever was such a thing. Quite forlorn and abandoned when we acquired it; it was completely gutted and transformed into a tranquil, artful place to live.
With only 1120 square feet originally, the floor plan was expanded into a 2041 sq. foot three bedroom 2.5 bath house without changing the original footprint in any way, with fireplaced living room and open kitchen/dining room area, finished basement, and sleeping loft. Outside, there are authentic wood awning and double-hung windows, large overhanging eaves, gable brackets, and lots of cedar shingles. There is also a fantastic deck built around a large oak out back, new covered porch up front with wood ceiling and fan, and all new one-car garage built to match the house. Inside, there’s custom hardwood flooring throughout, French doors, custom oak cabinets, bead board living room wall, vintage tile kitchen and luxury baths, and even completely built-in master bedroom furniture. Rebeccahaus was sold fully furnished and decorated. It was photographed for Renovation Style Magazine and should be featured in the summer of 2009.
